“You want class war? We’ll give you what you ask for!” was just one of the many chants that were thunderously echoed through the streets of Pittsburgh this past Saturday, October 15.
Occupy Pittsburgh, an offshoot of the ever-growing Occupy Wall Street protests that have been occurring since September 17, began its march for change, social justice and an end to corporate greed.
Becky Hoover reports on Tuesday’s rally against Gov. Tom Corbett’s proposed 54% cut to higher education in Pennsylvania, hosted by APSCUF. Several hundred students, including some in favor of the proposed budget cuts, gathered outside of the Gemmell Student Center on March 22.
From 6 p.m. on Dec. 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 5, students representing all of Clarion’s media groups held the first semesterly 48 Hour Broadcast, simulcast live on both WCUC-FM and WCUB-TV. The broadcast kicks off a new push for cooperation between student media organizations.
