Since I’m not attempting to dominate the entirety of The Music Box this week I’ll keep my list brief.
This week the panel is joined by Elora Walsh, reviewing “Appendage,” by Circa Survive. Circa Survive is a progressive rock band from Philadelphia and released it’s third full album, “Blue Sky Noise,” earlier this year.

“Appendage” is somewhat of a surprise since Circa Survive’s most recent album, “Blue Sky Noise,” came out less than eight months ago.
This week the panel is joined by Elora Walsh, reviewing “All Day,” by Girl Talk. Girl Talk is the stage name of Pittsburgh native Gregg Michael Gillis, a DJ and mashup artist. “All Day” is Girl Talk’s fifth LP, a danceable, sample-packed album of electronica.
This week the panel is joined by Elora Walsh, reviewing “The Lady Killer,” by Cee Lo Green. Cee Lo was originally a member of the Atlanta-based hip-hop group Goodie Mob. More recently he’s been known as the singing half of Gnarls Barkley, alongside producer Danger Mouse.
This week the panel is joined by Elora Walsh, reviewing “Sidewalks,” by Matt and Kim. Matt and Kim are an indie group from the Brooklyn, music scene. The duo formed in 2004 and released their first self-titled album in 2006.
Music is experienced differently by everyone. Because of this, the concept of a music review is flawed. To help change this, the Arts & Entertainment section would like to introduce The Music Box. This new column is dedicated to looking at an album from a number of different perspectives and features a panel of music reviewers from the university’s media outlets. Samuel Dixon, Ryan Loverick, Kris Campbell, Jeremiah Bull and a guest will be reviewing a new album every week and giving you their own unique take on it.
