Clarion Soccer Ends Season With 3-1 Loss

Even in a tough 3-1 loss against Kutztown University in the final game of the season, senior Maria Baldelli stole the spotlight, scoring her first career goal in the 88th minute of the match. “It felt really good,” said Baldelli. “Since I didn’t play a lot during the season, it was a big accomplishment.”

Clarion Soccer loses to CalU

California University of Pennsylvania continued its unbeaten streak after defeating Clarion University 3-0 on Saturday night, Oct. 15. Breenna Robinson scored two goals, and Kristen Orrett buried another to lead the way for the Vulcans (11-0-2, 8-0-2 PSAC). Robinson is second on the team with 12 goals on the season.

Trailing Mansfield 1-0 for the majority of the game, Clarion women’s soccer struck in the final minutes of regulation and early in overtime to earn the 2-1 victory at Mansfield. Alyssa Katz freed Bethany Naugle on a breakaway in the 88th minute. She buried her one-and-only opportunity to force overtime.

The team competes against teams from all over Pennsylvania including, Seton Hill, Pitt-Johnstown, Lake Erie, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Edinboro, Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock.
