Spirits haunt WCUB-TV

WCUB-TV became a station of horrors in the spirit of Halloween. The student-run television station at Clarion University was transformed into a haunted house Oct. 28. Tours started at 8 p.m. and continued until 10 p.m. The station was full of all kinds of horrors, including clowns, zombies, evil doctors and, of course, what would a haunted house be without witches?

A haunting in Clarion

Trick, treat or truth? For the students of Clarion, the truth came out in stories about some haunted university buildings. Dr. Todd Pfannestiel, along with the Clarion University History Club and Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, hosted the sixth annual Clarion University Ghost Experience 2009, Oct. 21 through 23.

No trick with this treat

With Halloween right around the corner, the TV has been flooded with commercials about the latest horror films claiming to be the greatest, scariest horror film in years. But after watching the movie people are usually disappointed because it turned out to have a bad ending or the movie plot was just horrible. The movie industry has also been flooding the market with remakes of old movies . . . also usually bad. One movie however never made it to theaters; it jumped straight to DVD and Blu-ray.

Old traditions make Halloween today

The Oct. 31 date, carving pumpkins, ghost stories and even bobbing for apples are all things that come to mind when Halloween approaches. Viewing the paranormal

Everyone has been startled by a bump in the night, quickly explained away as the house settling or air in the pipes, but some sounds are a bit more frightening. Oren Peli’s “Paranormal Activity” is a documentary-style film that tells the story of Micah and Katie, a young couple with a problem.
Katie, played by Katie Featherston, has been haunted by an unknown entity most of her life. From the time she was 8 years old, she has experienced phenomena that followed her everywhere she went and lurked in every residence.
