The 81st NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship took place last Thursday, March 17, through Saturday, March 19, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
Clarion had two NCAA qualifiers competing this year, 157-pound sophomore James Fleming and 165-pound junior Bekzod Abdurakhmonov.

Clarion University’s student recreation center was the site of the National Collegiate Open Wrestling Championship on Saturday, Feb. 19.
The tournament featured more than one hundred wrestlers from universities nationwide, from Cal-Poly to Edinboro University.
Clarion Golden Eagle Bekzod Abdurakhmonov successfully placed third in the tournament in the 165 weight class.

The Clarion Golden Eagles wrestling squad traveled to Kent State University last Friday for a match against the nationally ranked, No. 17 Golden Flash, a fight that ended in a massive Kent State victory, 44-6.
Clarion began its season with a record of 3-1, but had since fallen three consecutive times before facing Kent State.
