The No. 1 seeded Clarion Women’s volleyball team swept its first round PSAC playoff match against No. 4 Gannon Tuesday night, Nov. 9.
They took an early and commanding lead in game one, then sent their front-row hitters on a seek and destroy mission to close out their PSAC West rival in three games (25-20,
25-16, 25-19).
The Clarion women’s volleyball team, who clinched the number one seed in the PSAC West last week, swept Gannon in the first round of the playoffs. The Golden Eagles will advance to the conference semifinals.
On Friday, Oct. 29, Clarion women’s volleyball team took on the Lady Lakers of Mercyhurst University in their quest to conquer the PSAC West.
The Lady Eagles has been battling for this lead after losing to the Fighting Scots of Edinboro University, who took first place after winning against the Golden Eagles Oct.

The Clarion women’s volleyball team split a pair of matches last week, losing one match to Wheeling Jesuit before coming back on Saturday to beat Gannon University.
On Thursday Oct. 14, the Lady Eagles welcomed Wheeling Jesuit to Tippin Gym.
The Lady Golden Eagles volleyball team was handed its first loss in 13 matches on Friday evening against the Fighting Lady Scots of Edinboro University.
Edinboro won the first set 25-18. The Lady Eagles bounced back in the second set 25-23, but lost the next two, ending the match at 3-1.
The Lady Golden Eagles volleyball team walked away victorious this past Friday and Saturday.
Their first match was Friday evening against three-time PSAC champions California University of Pennsylvania.
After four sets and extending their winning streak to 12 straight games, the Lady Golden Eagles were the winners versus a CalU team they had not beaten since the 2006 season.
As Clarion celebrated the Autumn Leaf Festival, the Golden Eagles volleyball team was making digs in the gym.
The Lady Eagles competed in two matches this past week, playing California University of Pennsylvania Friday night and Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
At the beginning of the season, the Volleyball Team had to welcome on three new comers.
There are three freshmen on the team this season.
