Softball strikes out

The Clarion University women’s softball team traveled to California University of Pennsylvania this past Saturday for a double header, but was swept by the Vulcans 12-0 and 9-0.

Pitcher Megan Daley recorded the first loss for the Golden Eagles.

In the second game, Kacie Nemeth was the starting pitcher and Daley came in for relief pitching for 2.1 innings surrendering two runs and two hits.

Nemeth, Carlie Cook and Daley each recorded one hit for the Eagles.

The next day, Clarion hosted Bloomsburg for a double header on March 28.

The Huskies swept Clarion 6-1 and 11-2. These losses dropped Clarion’s record to 2-15 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC-Central.

The first game was tied until the fourth inning, when Bloomsburg caught a two run home run.
They later went on to score two more making the end score 6-1.

In the second game, Bloomsburg scored one in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth to win 11-2 in five innings. Daley took the loss.

The team will return to action on Friday when they take on Lock Haven on the road.
