Comments Off 10 December 2009

CLARION, Pa., Dec. 3 –
Last week set the stage for generous students to have an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit.

The concert and toy drive was sponsored by the Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Council.
Carols and other sing- alongs were a part of the concert.
Fraternities, sororities and other student organizations participated in a Holiday Concert.
Audience members were asked to donate toys at the door for children in Clarion County.
The event raised 209 toys to be donated.
Two days later on Friday, Santa Claus personally delivered the toys to the Adopted Children of Clarion County.
“Everyone was very grateful. They were also surprised at how many toys we were able to get,” said Phi Sigma Sigma sister Erin Dickerson, who also emceed the holiday concert.
“We had a great turnout at the concert and it was a lot of fun,” said Dickerson.
The concert celebrated it’s second year, and will continue to be an annual event.
“Hopefully, we can get 250 toys for next year and exceed our goal from this year,” said Dickerson.
There will be another chance to donate to children in Clarion County.
Clothing and undergarments will be collected next week in the library to give as holiday gifts to families in need.
Goodwill also accepts donations throughout the year, including the holiday season.
