The Siler Center’s annual Fall Walk parade through campus was held last Thursday. Clarion student Amanda Stockhausen was there to take these shots:

The Siler Center is currently set to close later this year due to lack of funding.

I urge everyone to try and sign the petitions to keep the center open. Educating these kids should be a priority for their sake, and also for their parents who are students, faculty, staff, and community members. What happens when we close this center? The children will all be dispersed to other means of care. They will lose friends and opportunities. As previous articles have stated, many of their parents who are students will be forced to transfer colleges in order to find child care. Clarion is supposed to have the reputation of teacher’s college, what ever happened to caring for the kids?
