A new kind of popstar

When you take the pop music singers like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears and mix their styles with ’80s rockers like Queen and David Bowie you get “Lady Gaga.” Over the past year or two Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta or Lady Gaga has become the talk of the media with her pop style of music accentuated with outrageous outfits and strange acts. Cobain’s struggle

It’s almost a guarantee that anyone who has listened to rock music during the early ’90s has heard a recording or two from the grunge band Nirvana at some point.  At the heart of this highly successful rock band was Kurt Cobain, the lead vocalist for the group.  Since his death on April 5, 1994, there have been a number of pieces on his life, delivering to curious fans and readers various summaries of Cobain’s life.  However, none have gone quite as in-depth on the downside of Cobain’s life as “Heavier then Heaven” by Charles R. ABC welcomes Visitors

The skies darken, the ground shakes, people run out of their homes expecting to see the worst from what felt like an earthquake, but instead raise their eyes to the sky and see the Visitors.

This new ABC series, “V,” which premiered Tuesday Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. derived from a 1983 mini-series of the same title. It begins with the Visitors making their entrance into Earth’s atmosphere, sending frightened citizens to the streets.

Spirits haunt WCUB-TV

WCUB-TV became a station of horrors in the spirit of Halloween. The student-run television station at Clarion University was transformed into a haunted house Oct. 28. Tours started at 8 p.m. and continued until 10 p.m. The station was full of all kinds of horrors, including clowns, zombies, evil doctors and, of course, what would a haunted house be without witches?

One powerful performance

The University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble played the acoustics of Marwick-Boyd Auditorium with power Sunday night. The bands consisted of university students who have been playing for years.  The show began on Sunday afternoon with the University Symphony Orchestra.

Is the Cleveland Show a spin-off or a rip off?

Just another Seth Macfarlane creation set to be another version of Family Guy. On Sept. 27, the new show by Family Guy creator Seth Macfarlane aired to bring audiences a spin-off of the Popular Family Guy animated series.  The show centers on Cleveland Brown who is the neighbor of Family Guy’s main character Peter Griffin, and his family.

Screeching tires, rumbling motors and the sweet sound of open headers-not the racetrack, just the sound of the annual S&T Bank Autorama at the Clarion Autumn Leaf Festival.

On Sunday, Sept. 27 The Clarion Autumn Leaf Festival was kicked off with the S&T Bank Autorama. Not even the poor weather could stop the proud owners of Americas favorite automobiles from attending the show as over 180 people showed up this year to show the pride and joy of their classic and antique cars.
